Robert Bourne was born in Orange County and grew up in the Southern California region. Robert is a Phi Beta Kappa honors graduate from the University of Georgia. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree at Georgia State University.

His path towards becoming an attorney was not an easy one; before pursuing higher education, Robert worked in a factory, where he experienced firsthand the struggles of injured workers.

One fateful day, Robert suffered a back injury at the factory. Expecting proper care and empathy, he was instead dismissed and told to take a Tylenol. This pivotal moment in his life revealed the harsh reality of how injured workers can be taken advantage of, and it ignited a fire within him to fight for the rights of those who have been wronged.

As a Phi Beta Kappa honors graduate from the prestigious University of Georgia and a proud Juris Doctorate degree holder from Georgia State University, Robert's academic achievements speak to his relentless dedication and determination.

Attorney Robert Bourne has devoted his entire legal career to representing individuals who have been injured on the job, in auto accidents, or in various other situations. He has over 25 years of experience in auto accidents, wrongful death, and workers' compensation cases. As a former president of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and a former vice president of the GTLA, he was appointed to serve on the Governor’s Advisory Council for Workers' Compensation. He has also served on the Chairman’s Advisory Council of the State Board of Workers' Compensation. Robert is a Phi Beta Kappa honors graduate from the University of Georgia and earned his Juris Doctorate degree at Georgia State University.

During his internship at the State Board of Workers' Compensation, Robert began his legal career working for the Executive Counsel for Governor Joe Frank Harris. He served as legal counsel for the House Judiciary Committee in the Georgia House of Representatives, as law clerk for the Cobb County State Court, and was appointed to the Judicial Nominating Committee by Governor Roy Barnes. With his extensive experience in handling several hundred cases and obtaining numerous six and seven-figure settlements, Robert Bourne knows there is no substitute for experience when battling insurance companies.

Outcome: Claimant won on appeal, Court of Appeals reversed Superior Court and reinstated Claimant's victory

Frett V. State Farm

Outcome: Victory for the injured worker. Supreme Court revereses the Court of Appeals and abolishes the "scheduled break defense".
